Off the back of a successful campaign for Leicester Comedy Festival 2025, we were asked to come back for the 2026 festival. Our task was to continue the 'aye up me duck' theme into a second year, whilst bringing a fresh approach.

The winning campaign concept was 'The Art of Comedy'. Our idea played on current debates in parliament, about how comedy should be considered an art-form. To keep the theme light, we developed five parody illustrations of iconic portrait paintings–mixed with cheeky rubber duck characters–creating a tongue-in-cheek way of merging art and comedy.

We created a collectible series of five brochure covers, animated and editable social assets, lots of print and digital marketing material, PR ideas, and assets to be used on merch. We also completely redesigned the inside brochure, for a more modern design and an easier and more enjoyable browsing experience.

 

The work didn't stop there! The UK Kid's Comedy Festival runs alongside the main festival, our job was to bring the art theme through to a younger audience. We ran a workshop where kid's could get involved by drawing their funniest ducks, which we then collaged onto the fun and energetic cover. It was a great way to get the younger generation inspired by art and comedy, through a unique opportunity that built self-esteem and great memories.
