Finalists in the RAR Awards 2015

RAR Awards 2015

We’re thrilled to be finalists in the RAR Awards 2015, in the Promotional Marketing category – one of the few combined categories within this year’s awards structure. That means we’ve been nominated against agencies of all shapes and sizes, some much larger than Juice Creative. It’s a privilege to find ourselves up against such stiff competition!

The RAR Awards nominations are unique in that they’re driven entirely by client feedback. Finalists and winners are selected using ratings and references from their clients. The criteria under scrutiny include creativity, effectiveness, strategic thinking, client service and more. The ratings cover services from advertising, design and direct marketing through to PR and events – the full range of marketing disciplines.

This is what makes the RAR Awards different from any other agency awards. An award from the RAR proves that an agency delivers outstanding results and the highest levels of client satisfaction.

The RAR Awards 2015 ceremony takes place on Wednesday 22nd April, at the London Marriott Hotel, Grosvenor Square W1K 6JP. There’s a drinks reception at 6:45pm, followed by a three-course meal and after-dinner address from a guest speaker. Following that, the awards themselves will be presented.

We hope to see you there!

Gearing up for the Business Awards

Creative Industries Business of the YearWe’re very proud to have won several industry awards during 2014 – including being named Creative Industries Business of the Year in the prestigious Leicester Mercury Business Awards.

Since receiving the award, we’ve had a great year working on some really exciting projects. So we’ve decided to throw our hat in the ring again, putting ourselves forward in several categories for the Leicester Mercury Business Awards 2015.

Nominations closed on 30th January 2015, which means our submissions will now go through an intensive three-week judging process, which will decide on a shortlist of three entrants per category. The winners will be announced at the awards evening, to be held at the Maher Centre on Thursday 23rd April. Tickets for the event are available now from the Leicester Mercury Media Group.

Here’s what David Simms, Leicester Mercury managing director and publisher, had to say about this year’s entries:

We have had some real quality businesses enter this year, including a number of organisations who have never previously been involved. I am really excited to see who the winners will be at what promises to be another fantastic awards evening on April 23.

We’re under no illusions. Leicestershire is a hotbed of creative business talent, so the opposition is stiff. But, whether we get through to the next round or not, we’re thrilled to be competing against such a formidable array of contestants.

May the best business win!

RAR Top 100 Agencies Outside London

RAR top 100 agencies outside londonWe’re delighted to announce that Juice Creative is one of the RAR Top 100 Agencies Outside London!

This annual list is published by The Drum in association with the Recommended Agency Register (RAR), and ranks agencies on a number of key financial criteria. In order to earn its place on the RAR list, the agency must also prove itself in terms of client satisfaction.

There are some great names on the list, and we’re proud to be in their company … and also proud to be flying the flag for all those powerhouses of creativity that exist outside the capital.

Nick Taylor and Susie Ackland of Juice Creative receive the Rainbows Business Award for “Corporate Gift in Kind” from Andy Nash, Operations Director of Opus Energy, and Brenda Penny, longest-serving member of the Rainbows Hospice staff.

We’re proud to have picked up a number of awards this year, but none is more special than the one we received last week at the Rainbows Business Awards 2014.

The Rainbows Business Awards is an annual event held by Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People. Its purpose is to celebrate the amazing support received by the hospice from companies and their staff from across the East Midlands.

The Unsung Hero of Christmas - Juice CreativeWe’ve enjoyed a fantastic relationship with the Rainbows Hospice during the past year, beginning with our special festive Rainbows book – The Unsung Hero of Christmas – and coming right up to date with the giant mural we’ve just completed in their Young Persons’ Lounge.

In recognition of our contributions, Rainbows announced us winners of the “Corporate Gift in Kind” award, which is given to a company that’s donated its services or products to Rainbows over the past year.

About Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People

Rainbows Hospice covers the whole of the East Midlands, providing care and support for the region’s children and young people who need it the most.

Rainbows opened its doors in 1994 and this year is celebrating its 20th birthday. Since its official opening in April 1995 by HRH Prince of Wales, thousands of children, young people, their families, siblings, relatives and friends from across the East Midlands have used the hospice.

It’s every parent’s worst nightmare to be told their child will die before them. But for an estimated 20,000 families across the UK, this is a reality. Some of these children will die when they’re very young, while others will deteriorate slowly over a number of years. In most cases, full-time care falls to the parents – 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People helps children and families in these situations with the emotional and physical challenges they face, helping them to make the most of life. The hospice supports families from Leicestershire, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire, Rutland and north Northamptonshire.

Juice Wins POPAI Awards

We’re immensely proud to have won two awards in this year’s POPAI UK & Ireland Awards. We received the awards last night at the prestigious 2014 POPAI UK & Ireland Awards ceremony, which was held at The Tower, St Katharine’s Way, London, and hosted by Marcus Brigstocke. Both awards were presented in the Grocery & General Merchandise category, for work done by Juice Creative on two national in-store campaigns.

Here are the details of the winning projects:

Pedigree Donation Bin

Grocery & General Merchandise – Permanent Display

Our award-winning project in the Grocery & General Merchandise – Permanent Display category was this dog food donation bin, which we created for Mars Petcare UK as part of the Pedigree “Feeding Brighter Futures” Campaign.

The target environment for the bin was the major multiples – Tesco, Morrisons, The Range, The Co-op.

Over 800 MDF Pedigree donation bins were sited, and reports from the trade continue to confirm how effective they are as means to engage with customers.

Whiskas WWF CampaignGrocery & General Merchandise – Temporary Display

Our award-winning project in the Grocery & General Merchandise – Temporary Display category was this massive in-store campaign for Whiskas and WWF, which we created for Mars Petcare UK.

Whiskas asked Juice to develop the campaign to support their WWF-partnered on-pack promotion. We developed our creative treatment across multiple formats and channels, then rolled it out nationwide.

The campaing was a tremendous success, with in-store KPIs not only met but doubled – and in some cases quadrupled. It was also showcased as “best practice” in the Waitrose Brand Guidelines.

Juice Helps Create New Woodland

Juice Creative Carbon Capture certificate

We’re extremely proud of our latest Woodland Carbon certificate, which certifies that Juice Creative has created 19.32m2 of new native woodland in the UK, to remove 773 kg of carbon dioxide. And that’s just during the summer.

As members of the award-winning Woodland Carbon scheme, we’re committed to looking after the environment. Everything we print conforms to the UK Government’s 2011 Woodland Carbon Code. This reduces our impact on the environment, mitigates our carbon emissions and provides the Woodland Trust with funds to plant new woodland.

Burton’s Fish’n’Chips Triumph

Burton's Fish'n'Chips Share BagCongratulation to Burton’s Biscuits, who have just won a prestigious Product Launch of the Year award in the 2014 Retail Industry Awards.

The award – in the “crisps and snacks” category – was snapped up by Burton’s Fish’n’Chips. Prior to the launch, the baked snack biscuits were voted the number one retro snack the nation wanted to see brought back.

According to Burton’s Biscuits:

Originally from the 80’s, Burton’s Fish’n’Chips are a tasty fish and chip shaped snack with an eye watering flavour hit of salt and vinegar. Available in packs for on the go and packs for sharing, they’re great anywhere.

Juice Creative played a pivotal role in the relaunch of these nostalgic nibbles. Our first task was to design a range of trade communications, including a set of cheeky “takeaway” sales presenters.

Once we’d engaged the buyers, we created a suite of mouth-watering in-store promotion and display items – including posters, shelf barkers, free standing display units, and even a set of funky “chip-cone” dump bins – all designed to catch the eye and shout out the irresistible message: “They’re Back!”

2014 Retail Industry Awards

The Retail Industry Awards present themselves as the “Oscars” of the grocery industry, rewarding retailers of all sizes from small independent grocers to large retail chains. This year’s awards ceremony took place on Saturday 25 September at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, London.

The Product Launch of the Year awards recognise products that are available to the independent/convenience sector. There are eleven categories: alcohol, chilled and frozen, confectionery, crisps and snacks, grocery, health and beauty, household, newspapers and magazines, non-food, soft drinks, and tobacco. The crisps and snacks category includes crisps, corn snacks, rice snacks, nuts and cereal bars.

Whiskas-WWF Campaign Wins IPM Awards

IPM Silver Award - Whiskas WWF Campaign - Juice CreativeJuice Creative is proud to have picked up not one but two IPM Silver Awards, in an annual ceremony held by the Institute of Promotional Marketing.

The awards were won by Mars Petcare for “Help Protect a Tiger”, a massive in-store campaign run by Whiskas in partnership with the World Wildlife Fund. The creative work was delivered by Juice. Against stiff competition, the campaign won Silver status not only in the Household and Petcare category, but also in the category for Charity Partnership Marketing.

Whiskas WWF in-store posterWhiskas asked Juice to develop the campaign to support their WWF-partnered on-pack promotion. One of the key requirements was to make an instant emotional connection with the consumer. To achieve this, we made the creative decision to replace the adult tiger from the Whiskas pack with an appealing tiger cub.

We developed our creative treatment for multiple formats and channels, then rolled it out nationwide. It was a great success, with in-store KPIs not only met but doubled – and in some cases quadrupled. The campaign was also showcased as “best practice” in the Waitrose Brand Guidelines.

About the Awards

According to the IPM website, “The IPM Awards have been running for 40 years, and recognise creativity and effectiveness in promotional marketing campaigns. In 2014, there were 32 separate main categories, covering client industry sectors, media channels, objectives and techniques, plus five special categories.”

Here’s what Richard Pink, IPM’s Head of Awards, had to say about this year’s ceremony, which took place on 10th June at the London Hilton, Park Lane:

The evening was a great success, with more than 500 people thronging the ballroom at the London Hilton to celebrate the best of the best in promotional marketing – and also to raise money and awareness for the IPM’s chosen good cause, education charity CoppaFeel!
