The World’s Biggest Rainbow Mosaic

Rainbows Hospice postcard challenge

It isn’t every day Juice Creative gets involved with a world record attempt. But today, Friday 17th April 2015, is one of those days!

We’re helping Rainbows Hospice in their attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the World’s Biggest Postcard Mosaic. We’ve collected around 40,000 of postcards through a special Rainbows 20th Birthday campaign – developed by Juice – in which people were invited to take a colourful “rainbow selfie” and submit their picture to become part of the mosaic.

Then, just this morning, we just unleashed 40 volunteers to tackle the enormous task of assembling the postcards into a huge rainbow. When completed, this momentous mosaic which will measure roughly 30m x 21m, smashing the current world record by a considerable margin!

Our record-breaking attempt is taking place at the Manheim Car Auctions Hangar, Bruntingthorpe and is already enjoying bags of press, radio and television coverage. Along with Rainbows, we’ll be tweeting about it all day, and our crew is busy creating a time-lapse film of the whole event.

Watch the live feed from the event below … and wish us luck!

About Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People

Rainbows Hospice covers the whole of the East Midlands, providing care and support for the region’s children and young people who need it the most.

Rainbows opened its doors in 1994 and this year is celebrating its 20th birthday. Since its official opening in April 1995 by HRH Prince of Wales, thousands of children, young people, their families, siblings, relatives and friends from across the East Midlands have used the hospice.

It’s every parent’s worst nightmare to be told their child will die before them. But for an estimated 20,000 families across the UK, this is a reality. Some of these children will die when they’re very young, while others will deteriorate slowly over a number of years. In most cases, full-time care falls to the parents – 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People helps children and families in these situations with the emotional and physical challenges they face, helping them to make the most of life. The hospice supports families from Leicestershire, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire, Rutland and north Northamptonshire.
